Narrating Places

Abstract

The paper investigates the theme of narrativity by analyzing it within the spatial dimension and scrutinizing the forms it assumes, along with their ethical significance. It initially aims to elucidate the importance of this perspective through an anthropological reflection that underscores the fundamental role of the interconnection between spatiality and temporality in human existence. Subsequently, it examines how this relationship develops narratively, manifesting in the locations where human beings live. Finally, particular emphasis is placed on the questions of truth and justice raised by the forms of spatialisation of narratives, clarifying how these serve as methods of considering and critically transforming narratives towards an inclusive and respectful future – one that avoids repeating past evils and seeks to mend the wounds inflicted.
