Multilevel Resilience for Digital Maturity in the Era of the Sustainable Development Goals: Evidence From China

Wanting Guo, Kaifeng Yan, Marina Latukha

In the era of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), digital transformation is essential for firms to maintain competitive advantages and ensure long-term survival, yet rapid technological updates generate volatility, technostress, and adaptation pressures that undermine resilience. Understanding the dynamic capabilities and microfoundations of digital maturity is essential for firms to navigate rapidly evolving competitive environments. Focusing on multilevel resilience, spanning the individual, team, and organizational levels, we explore how these capabilities interact across levels and can be leveraged. Drawing on a dataset of 146 managers from Chinese enterprises, our findings reveal the bottom-up mechanisms through which these levels of resilience interact to foster digital maturity. This study offers critical insights for managers seeking to build systemic resilience to drive digital transformation in the SDG era.
