Abstract

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has emerged as an essential diagnostic tool that has revolutionized the way healthcare professionals care for their patients. Medical and surgical specialties across the globe can incorporate POCUS into their clinical practice to expedite patient care and enhance patient treatment. POCUS is being used at the patient’s bedside to gather important clinical information quickly and noninvasively without the use of ionizing radiation. This multidisciplinary POCUS compendium provides step-by-step instructions on how to incorporate POCUS into clinical practice. Healthcare providers from multiple specialties across the globe have collaborated to produce a comprehensive resource for diagnostic and procedural ultrasound. Each chapter contains clear and concise information regarding a specific ultrasound application, along with high-quality images and a question-and-answer section to facilitate learning and knowledge retention. This compendium serves as an indispensable resource for healthcare professionals seeking to master the art and science behind POCUS in diverse clinical settings. Through its comprehensive and structured approach, it equips professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to harness the full potential of POCUS.
