Molecular crowding effect on ion-pair extraction of picric acid and alkylammonium ion

Macromolecular crowding enhanced ion-pair association and extraction, while suppressing the distribution coefficient. Volume exclusion and osmotic pressure analyses revealed the mechanisms underlying these effects.
