The interlayer Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (IL-DMI) has recently attracted extensive interest as an indirect chiral coupling. Effective control requires modulation of both its strength and direction, posing significant challenges. This work experimentally demonstrates a wedge-based approach that modulates IL-DMI in magnetic heterostructures via a thickness gradient. By systematically varying the thickness gradients in the Pt underlayer and spacer layer, we directly tuned the magnitude while preserving the orientation. This wedge-shaped modulation strategy shows promising potential for advanced spintronic devices utilizing IL-DMI.
