Modular DNA hybrid catalysts: design strategies and recent advances

Soyoung Park

Abstract

DNA hybrid catalysts have emerged as versatile platforms for asymmetric catalysis by integrating synthetic catalytic modules within structurally defined DNA scaffolds. Advances in automated DNA synthesis and site-specific functionalization enable precise catalyst positioning and the rational design of modular DNA hybrid catalysts. This Highlight Review discusses their design principles and evolution, with a focus on covalent catalyst incorporation, and highlights current limitations and future opportunities.
