The efficacy of microbial cultures namely Azotobacter chroococcum and Rhizobium sp. isolates was tested on seed germination and growth performance of Cassia siamea and Prosopis juliflora. Comparatively, seed bacterization with A. chroococcum isolate SM4 increased the seed germination per cent significantly as compared to other suggest ed methods. Statistically, this inoculums increased the leaf area, weight of plant and dry matter accumulation of Cassia siamea. Whereas Rhizobium Lmg inoculums showed highly significant response in case of Prosopis juliflora while improving the total biomass of plant in nursery as well as improving the nitrogen status of soil simultaneously
