MHD Forced Convection Boundary Layer Casson Nanofluid Flow Across A Stretching Sheet with Velocity Slip: Sensitivity Analysis via the Response Surface Approach
Umme Hani, Mohammad Ali, Muhammad Shahnewaz Bhuyan, Rehena NasrinThis study investigates the consequences of viscous dissipation as well as solar radiation on the MHD Casson nanofluid boundary layer (BL) flow across a stretching sheet while taking the Buongiorno model into account. The fluid motion modeling partial differential equations are transmuted into ordinary differential equations by applying similarity transformations. The Spectral Quasi-Linearization Method (SQLM) is considered to calculate the modeled system and examine how various fluid parameters affect the temperature, concentration, and velocity profiles numerically. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is employed to examine the impacts of physical parameters and the response variations due to input parameters. This study presents a novel integration of MHD Casson nanofluid flow with solar radiation and viscous dissipation over a stretching sheet using the Buongiorno model, solved via SQLM and optimized through RSM-based sensitivity analysis. Velocity declines with the enhancement of the magnetic field parameter and Casson parameter; besides, opposite effects are observed in temperature. For variations in the magnetic field parameter and the thermophoresis parameter, the concentration enhances far from the sheet but decreases close to the sheet. The shear stress coefficient rises with increasing magnetic field and Casson parameters, while it declines with increasing stretching ratio and velocity slip parameters. The heat transfer rate upsurges with the stretching ratio and the Biot number but decreases the mass transfer rate. On the basis of statistical measures, the regression model of shear stress coefficient is best fitted. Also, the sensitivity of the shear stress coefficient, the absolute magnitude of sensitivity for the velocity slip, is substantially larger than that of the magnetic field and Casson parameters. The results are applicable in thermal engineering systems, solar energy devices, polymer processing, biomedical flows, and MHD-based industrial operations.
