Methodology for improving long-distance shot accuracy in basketball players in the final seconds of a game based on comprehensive speed-strength and coordination training

The purpose of the study is to develop and experimentally substantiate a methodology for improving the accuracy of long-range (three-point) shots by basketball players in the final seconds of the game, based on comprehensive speed-strength and coordination training. Research methods and organization. The study was conducted in 2024–2025 within the framework of an elective physical education course at Petrozavodsk State University. The pedagogical experiment involved 24 qualified basketball players (aged 18–22 years, qualification: first category – Candidate Master of Sports). The study employed pedagogical observation, testing, a pedagogical experiment, and methods of mathematical statistics. The author's methodology is based on the principles of conjugate impact and involved performing special exercises against the background of simulated competitive fatigue (heart rate 160–180 bpm). Research results and conclusions. In the experimental group, the accuracy of long-range shots increased, and improvements were observed in jumping ability, hand grip strength, and coordination abilities. The developed methodology significantly enhances the noise immunity of long-range shooting technique under conditions of physical and psycho-emotional fatigue in the final seconds of the game. The comprehensive approach ensures the simultaneous development of speed-strength and coordination qualities and is recommended for implementation into the training process.
