Culturally responsive teaching and culturally relevant pedagogy have been highlighted as critical yet overlooked components of K-12 education. The findings from this study stem from a broader multiyear, mixed-methods study that examined a culturally responsive Black ethnic studies course tailored to the social-emotional well-being of male adolescents. All Black men program instructors in this program serve as both educators and natural mentors. Study findings highlight academic and social-emotional development among young people, and educators described their curriculum implementation along with individualized care coordination, and the impact of their school settings on their ability to serve young people.
