MeerKAT’s view of an interaction between intra-cluster magnetic field and blackhole jets

Merging galaxy clusters exhibit cosmic-ray acceleration to extreme energies at low-Mach number shocks. In the case of Abell 3376 merging galaxy cluster, the X-ray emission morphology show interesting elongated structure along with identifiable cold fronts. These cold fronts have been associated with enhanced magnetic field layer due to magnetic draping caused by the motion of sub-cluster material. MRC 0600-399, the second brightest radio galaxy in the cluster, is observed to have its northern and southern jets bent by ∼ 90° east against ram pressure. From our magnetohydrdynamic simulation, the interaction between the intracluster magnetic layer and the jets of MRC 0600-399 is responsible for the bending of the jets.
