The presented study examines the mechanism of state regulation of the sectoral structure of the country's agro-industrial market. The relevance of the study is due to the need to improve the system of state regulation of the agricultural sector in the context of modern economic challenges. The study is based on the materials of the Kursk Region, taking into account the specifics of regional development of the agricultural sector. The purpose of this study is to develop an improved mechanism of state regulation of the sectoral structure of the agro-industrial complex, taking into account the sectoral specifics and modern requirements of the agro-industrial complex. The study addresses the issue of adapting existing support tools to current economic conditions. The research methodology is based on system analysis, comparative analysis methods, expert assessments, analysis of the regulatory framework for state regulation of the agro-industrial complex, as well as a monographic analysis of scientific literature, and a systematic approach to studying the mechanism of state regulation. The main results of the research are presented in the form of an algorithm for optimizing state regulation of the sectoral structure of the agro-industrial complex, which includes setting goals, identifying priority sectors, diagnosing problems, identifying growth points, and monitoring efficiency. A two-level regulatory mechanism has been proposed: federal (legislative) and regional (executive). The practical significance of the work lies in the development of recommendations for improving the system of state regulation and support for the agricultural sector. Optimization tools have been proposed. The results of the study demonstrate the need to create a more flexible system of state regulation that can take into account the specific development of individual regions. The developed mechanism will increase the effectiveness of state support for the agro-industrial complex and ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
