Measures to improve the efficiency of banking activities in the context of digital transformation: a process and economic approach
Elena Sidorova, Elena HarazovaThe article examines the systemic transformations in banking initiated by digital transformation. The focus is on the interrelated process and economic aspects of improving the operational and strategic effectiveness of credit institutions. The goal is to develop a comprehensive approach to improving the efficiency of banking activities based on a synthesis of process management and economic analysis, which allows maximizing the benefits of digitalization and minimizing the associated risks. The research methodology includes the use of methods of systematic and comparative analysis, the process approach, economic and mathematical modeling, as well as the method of generalization. The theoretical basis was the concepts of digital transformation, lean manufacturing and business process management. The scientific novelty of the article is that measures have been developed to improve the efficiency of banking activities in the current environment based on an innovative model. A classification of efficiency improvement measures according to the criterion of impact on the value chain, as well as differentiation of economic effects into tactical and strategic ones, is also proposed. The results contain conclusions that optimization and automation of end-to-end processes are important, as well as a transition to digital management and product development. A conclusion is drawn about the transformation of the economic model through partnerships and ecosystems. It is proved that the synergy of process improvements and economic restructuring forms a stable source of competitive advantage, expressed not only in increasing profitability, but also in increasing the financial stability and customer-centricity of the bank. The results of the study can be used by the management and management of commercial banks in the formation of digital transformation strategies, business process reengineering and investment assessment in IT projects.
