Mawlānā Jalāl al-Din Rūmī as a Universal Figure: A Bibliometric Analysis of Global Trends and Networks of Rūmī and Mawlawiyya Studies

This study explores global trends and academic networks in research on Mawlānā Jalāl al-Din Rūmī (1207–1273) and the Mawlawiyya Sufi order through bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping methods. Based on 301 articles from the Web of Science database, the findings show that academic interest in the field has grown significantly, particularly after 2016. Regarding publication performance, Turkey and Iran stand out, while countries such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom have also made noteworthy contributions. In terms of universities, Selçuk University in Turkey and Islamic Azad University in Iran stand out as the most productive institutions. Co-citation analysis highlights William Chittick, Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı, and Annemarie Schimmel as the most influential researchers in the field.
