Mahesh Kumar, Indrajeet Tiwari, N. Muruli

This study presents a Scopus-based bibliometric analysis of the research output of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) during 2021–2025. A total of 1,190 publications were analysed using MS Excel, VOSviewer, and Biblioshiny to examine publication trends, citations, prolific authors, journals, funding agencies, collaboration, keywords, and thematic evolution. The publications involved 7,699 authors and received 10,231 citations. B. B. Nayak was the most prolific author with 112 publications, while the Indian Journal of Fisheries was the leading journal with 74 publications. More than 65% of the research was concentrated in Agricultural and Biological Sciences. International publications demonstrated greater visibility and citation impact than domestic publications. ICAR was the leading funding agency, supporting 28.66% of the publications. Keyword analysis identified established research areas such as Labeo rohita, aquaculture, and growth performance, alongside emerging themes including gene expression, microplastics, and ecotoxicology. The findings highlight CIFE’s growing research productivity, expanding global engagement, and increasing emphasis on interdisciplinary, sustainable, and advanced fisheries research.
