MANDATORY DEATH PENALTY: SENTENCING POLICY AND THE ATTITUDE OF COURTS IN NIGERIA

Death Penalty is recognized as a legitimate punishment by the Constitution? as well as by the Criminal Code and Penal Code. In Nigeria, like virtually every other country, offences are subject to classification. Some offences are regarded ‘as simple, others are called misdemeanours.
