Ovarian tumors account for about %6 of female malignancies. %20 of ovarian tumors are germ cell ovarian malignancies and the commonest type of germ cell tumors of ovary is teratoma.1 Teratomas have subtypes like mature, immature and specialized tissue. Of all the germ cell tumors only mature cystic teratoma (MCT) is benign. However, MCT can under go malign transformation in less than %2 of cases. Malign transformation seen especially in postmenopausal patients. Most common type (%80) of malign transformation is squamous cell carcinoma.2 In this article we report a case of squamous cell carcinoma arising from ovarian MCT in a postmenopausal patient.
