Long-term results of kinetic oscillating stimulation (KOS) in the treatment of non-allergic rhinitis.

Objectivies: The application of kinetic oscillation stimulation in patients with non-allergic rhinitis may represent a new therapeutic frontier. We evaluated its results three years after treatment. We also sought to identify the type of patient with the greatest potential for success. Methods and Material: We conducted a retrospective observational and descriptive study on 38 patients who had been suffering from non-allergic rhinitis for at least a year and who reported that the pharmacological treatments they had undergone until then had been unsatisfactory. All patients in the study underwent therapy with kinetic oscillating stimulation. Patients were asked to complete a survey before treatment regarding their nasal conditions and a second survey with similar questions 3 years later. Results: Statistical analysis of the collected data allows us to state that the results of treatment with kinetic oscillating stimulation in non-allergic rhinitis are good and stable over time, particularly in subjects, with eosinophilic endotype. We also observed a better response in subjects living in the countryside, non-smokers, and with a history of stress factors. Conclusions: Kinetic oscillating stimulation appears to be a promising tool for the treatment of non-allergic rhinitis.
