Localised Porokeratosis in a Father-Daughter Duo: A Rare Presentation

Porokeratosis is an uncommon clonal disorder of epidermal keratinisation characterised by abnormal differentiation and proliferation of keratinocytes. It is derived from the Greek word “poro”, meaning pore (of the sweat gland), and “keratosis”, meaning horny thickening, though the term is a misnomer. Clinically, the condition manifests with single or multiple papules or plaques with central clearing and raised keratotic borders corresponding histopathologically to cornoid lamellae—columns of tightly packed parakeratotic cells that extend vertically through the stratum corneum. We present here a report of a father and daughter who presented with localised porokeratosis.
