Life Pressure Facing Palestinian Martyrs’ Wives Under Coronavirus-COVID-19 Pandemic

The study aims to identify the life pressures faced by the wives of Palestinian martyrs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The researchers used the descriptive-analytical approach, as it was deemed appropriate for the study’s objectives, and designed a questionnaire for data collection. The questionnaire consisted of 35 items and was administered to a sample of wives of Palestinian martyrs from the 2021 war in the Gaza Strip. The study identified key findings related to psychological, social, and economic stressors faced by the wives of Palestinian martyrs during the coronavirus pandemic. Regarding psychological stressors, the statement (I feel disadvantaged by the loss of my husband) ranked first, with a high agreement rate of 82.7%. Concerning social stressors, the highest ranked statement was (I avoid participating in social events after losing my husband), with a high agreement rate of 74%. As for economic stressors, the statement (The number of monthly obligations drains most of the martyr’s spouses’ pension) ranked first, with a high agreement rate of 79.1%. The study recommends the development of psychological and social support programs for victims of war, as well as efforts to facilitate the social reintegration and rehabilitation of the wives and families of martyrs within their communities.
