Libraries of the medieval Welsh gentry

‘Mapping the March’ aims to uncover the history of libraries and book collectors in the medieval March of Wales, according to Helen Fulton from the University of Bristol. The March of Wales refers to the lands occupied by Norman lords on the borders of Wales and along the south coast of Wales. Between 1066 and 1550, these Marcher lords infiltrated the lands of the native Welsh princes and established the Normans, and then the English, as a major colonising presence in Wales.
