Legal Aspects of Yard Sales – Limits and Perspectives
Eva JaničkováAbstract
The direct sale of small quantities of primary products to the final consumer directly from the farm or household (the so-called “yard sales”) is one of the key tools for supporting the regional economy, as well as an important source of livelihood for many rural communities. Although yard sales guarantee consumers access to fresh and sustainable food, a number of obstacles associated with the application of this institute can be found in practice. In connection with the above, the author focuses on the research of European and Slovak legislation on yard sales, in order to identify application problems present in this area, as well as the subsequent formulation of appropriate proposals for their solution.
