Labor productivity in agriculture Russia
Ruslan Dolzhenko, Denis Razumovsky, Evgeny LogvinovLabor productivity is very important among all economic indicators. It characterizes the effectiveness of processes, the use of resources, the right approaches to personnel and other aspects of the organization of work. Specific approaches to labor productivity management are being developed for different sectors of the economy but based on general methodological principles to be able to compare indicators. This is an important area of work for agriculture, but there are no uniform approaches to labor productivity in the industry, and estimates of this indicator vary. The purpose of the study is to analyze the possibilities of a systematic analysis of labor productivity indicators by industry and to develop a unified approach with its testing based on open data on agriculture and its individual areas. Methods were used analysis of Rosstat data, comparison of approaches to labor productivity assessment, review of scientific and applied literature. As of 2024, there are 226,000 organizations operating in the agricultural sector in Russia, employing 5.88 million people (7.9% of the employed). The share of the agricultural market is 2.74% of the gross value added. The average annual growth rate of labor productivity in revenue for 2020-2024 was 13.4% (12.3% when calculated by value added). In our country, about 10 indicators related to labor productivity in the industry are collected and analyzed at the federal level. Several problems can be identified in the collection and analysis of these indicators, and to eliminate them, considering advanced foreign experience, a methodological approach to assessing labor productivity through indicators on key factors in agriculture is proposed. Its use will allow for a systematic assessment of labor productivity, as well as factors affecting it, both in the agricultural sector as a whole and in specific areas.
