La persecuzione degli ebrei a Roma sotto occupazione tedesca 1943/1944 nelle fonti orali e processuali

Anna Foa

Abstract

The Persecution of the Jewish People in Rome under German Occupation, 1943–1944, as Reported in Oral and Trial Records. Drawing on research into the history of 16 October 1943 – the Nazi round-up of Jews living in Rome at the time – the author offers a new perspective on aspects of daily life for Jewish men and women who faced the daily risk of being denounced and deported. What is new is the focus on the precarious ‚convivencia‘ with the non-Jewish environment – drawn from collections of interviews with Jewish survivors as well as from the trials against Italian accomplices of Nazi oppressors; this new focus invites further research.
