Klassenunterschiede im Diskurs?

Eva Buddeberg

Abstract

Discourse ethics is based on the idea of a communication community free of domination. Is this equally accessible to all people, regardless of their social status or class affiliation? What restrictions arise from the uneven distribution of argumentative speech skills? What other possibilities are there for allowing people to participate in public discourse as citizens? The article first summarises the central features of discourse ethics. Secondly, it addresses the concept of class, and in particular, the role of language therein. Thirdly, it outlines how discourse-ethical approaches could or should deal with the challenges of social inequality.
