However, despite its strategic importance, LI remains underexplored in developing economies. This study investigates the economic and technological barriers that hinder LI in Moroccan firms. Drawing on a quantitative analysis of 62 firms and grounded in a comprehensive literature review, the study examines how factors such as demand uncertainty, funding constraints, research and development limitations, intellectual capital, inter-organisational cooperation, firm age and firm size influence LI behaviour. The findings reveal that financial resources and firm size significantly affect LI. These insights have practical and policy implications, underscoring the need to support firm-level innovation capacity through financial incentives and targeted public policies.
