Justification of the rational choice of directions when planning independent teacher training to improve professional competencies
Leonid SteblyanskiyAt the present stage, higher education is on the path of transformation, putting forward new requirements for the level of teacher training. The measures taken to improve the professional level through teacher training courses, distance learning, and the use of distance learning technologies show their insufficiency to meet modern requirements. The studied educational experience shows that the measures taken are not so effective without the independent work of the teacher, without independent improvement there is no progressive development. The article examines the theoretical issue of improving teacher professionalism through the prism of research on this issue by historically famous teachers and thinkers, including K.D. Ushinsky, L.N. Tolstoy, A.S. Makarenko, V.A. Sukhomlinsky. This experience has been studied in the practical plane of modernity. The directions for improving the teacher's professionalism in the course of independent work are proposed. Attention is paid to the teacher's competencies, taking into account what students expect from the acquired knowledge, taking into account their understanding of competencies in the field of professional activity, maintaining the tone of personal growth both during training and in future professional activities. At the heart of everything is the need for a continuous learning process for everyone, which is most effective when there is independent work aimed at improving professionalism.
