Andrey Grachikov, XIAOXUAN Hu

The purpose of the study is to develop a substantiated three-component rehabilitation program using traditional Chinese health practices for persons with disabilities (PWD), including disabled people. Research methods and organization. An analysis of scientific and methodological literature and a questionnaire survey (an online survey on the platform https://www.wjx.cn) were conducted. The survey was conducted from April to June 2026 with the participation of 344 respondents on the topic "Perception and attitude toward Chinese martial arts as a means of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, including disabled people." The questions were aimed at studying the level of awareness, perception, and attitude of rehabilitation specialists toward the effectiveness of using traditional Chinese martial arts and gymnastics. Statistical processing of the data was carried out using Pearson's χ² test with the merging of age groups to ensure correctness. The sample is not representative of the entire population of the PRC; all students study in the field of physical education and rehabilitation. Employees of rehabilitation centers and social sector institutions are specialized specialists providing rehabilitation services, which makes the sample professionally relevant. Research results and conclusions. High awareness was revealed in the field of tai chi, baduanjin, and wuqinxi. Statistically significant age differences were established for tai chi and baduanjin. 82.0% of respondents consider the practices useful for disabled people; 80.8% are confident in the rehabilitation effect. The main barriers are lack of time and lack of knowledge of the techniques. A three-component program was developed, including: Bi Jin Zhi, Mianquan, and Qigong. Since July 2026, the experimental development has been undergoing testing at the base of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Social Service Institution "Center for Social Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons and Disabled Children of the Kalininsky District".
