Journalism and artificial intelligence: Knowledge and attitudes of Greek journalists

Aikaterini (Katia) Tsimplaki, Andreas Veglis

Artificial intelligence (AI), its applications in news, the question whether it can replace human resources and the challenges it poses for professionals are topics of concern for journalists worldwide. This study examines the integration of AI into the workflow of Greek journalists using a survey, in which 177 journalists participated. It explores several key questions regarding the integration of AI in the Greek media landscape, specifically focusing on how well-informed Greek journalists are about these technologies, their level of familiarity and practical usage of AI tools in their daily routines and the extent to which they anticipate AIs to impact their future professional work and the broader industry.
