Dipole-engineered Janus MgAlB ₂ offers high Li storage capacity of 1470.24 mAh g ⁻¹ , ultralow diffusion barrier of 17.1 meV and high diffusion coefficient of 1.28 × 10 ⁻³ cm ² s ^−1.
