The dimension of the crisis in the Middle East region is such that unless the International community assumes a critical and systematic approach toward resolving the well entrenched injustice perpetrated by Israel and its allies against the Palestinians and the people of Lebanon, the situation may degenerate and have spillover effects, which will be critical in relation to the fundamental issue of maintenance of International peace and security within the perspective of the United Nations (UN) system.
