ISOLATION AND CULTIVATION OF γδT-LYMPHOCYTES FROM TISSUES AND ORGANS OF HUMANS AND ANIMALS: PRINCIPAL APPROACHES. REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Oksana Svitich, E. KALINIChENKO, I. BIShEVA, E. SOROKINAThe γδT-lymphocytes’ capacity to recognize antigens regardless of the major histocompatibility complex and to produce cytokines and cytotoxic molecules makes them promising objects for immunotherapy. The tissue-resident γδT-cells play an important role in immune surveillance, maintaining homeostasis and pathogenesis of various diseases including infectious, oncological and autoimmune processes. However the methods for isolating and cultivating γδT-lymphocytes remain complicated and poorly standardized, especially for those derived from tissue sources. This review focuses on the modern approaches to isolation of these cells from various tissues of humans (biopsies, surgical materials) and animals (mainly mice).
