Isolated Ruptured Spinal Artery Aneurysm – Rare Cause of Paraparesis

Hrushikesh Kharosekar, Nikunj Varandani, Shrijit Kumar, Vinayak Dhage, Vernon L. Velho

Spinal artery aneurysms are very rare. Isolated spinal artery aneurysm with rupture leading to subarachnoid hemorrhage is seen in <1% cases. Ruptured spinal artery aneurysm leading to paraparesis has not reported in the literature as far as our knowledge. Digital subtraction angiography is the gold standard. Endovascular management is difficult in these lesions. Early suspicion and early surgical intervention can give better recovery chances in these patients, as seen in our patient.
