Ionic shielding of electrostatic interactions of fibrinogen during aggregate formation: a molecular dynamics study

The in vitro production route of fibrillar biomaterials based on fibrinogen depends on the used buffer environment. At the atomic scale this can be rationalised by the composition of the electrostatic double-layer surrounding the protein domains.
