Investigation of Daylighting Pedagogy in Architectural Education

Neriman Gül Çelebi, Ümit Arpacıoğlu

Daylight is an indispensable element of architectural design, design approaches that prioritise the physical environment, and human-centred design. Investigating the role of daylight pedagogy in architectural education is therefore both important and necessary. This study develops an evaluation framework to define the importance and role of daylight pedagogy in architectural education and contribute to research in this field. Within this framework, four universities included in the QS 2026 rankings are analysed and discussed using comparative matrices. The findings reveal the need for integrated educational models to enhance the effectiveness of daylight pedagogy in architectural education.
