Providing context – such as background information or previous conversation details – enhances the AI's comprehension. Prompt engineering is often iterative; refining prompts based on initial responses yields better outcomes. Experimentation is key. Trying different prompt styles helps users understand how AI interprets inputs and allows for better customisation. In academic settings, prompt engineering plays a transformative role. It enables AI to assist in learning, teaching, and research by making education more personalised and innovative. AI can summarise academic articles, generate research questions, and synthesise complex information, saving time and enhancing understanding.
