Introduction: Catholic Perspectives on the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the United Nations Women, Peace and Security Agenda

Caesar A. Montevecchio, Meghan J. Clark, Melinda Davis

This introductory article frames the contributions to this special issue of the Journal of Moral Theology . It does so by introducing the UN’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) initiative at its twenty-fifth anniversary and outlining the core issues and gaps in the literature around the distinct peacebuilding work of Catholic women. While much research has been done on women in peacebuilding and on Catholic peacebuilding, the intersection of the two is underexamined. The article concludes by briefly outlining the focus of each article in this special issue.
