INTRAORAL SCANNERS IN 2026: FROM ACCURACY TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Otamurot Qudrat ugli Sultonmurotov, Kunanbayevich Beysenbaev Nurbek

Over the past several years, digital intraoral scanning has moved from a promising innovation to a routine part of clinical practice. This review summarizes current evidence on the accuracy of contemporary intraoral scanners, examines the technical, clinical and operator-related factors that determine the quality of a digital impression, and outlines the remaining limitations of the method. Particular attention is paid to devices released in 2024–2026 and to embedded artificial intelligence algorithms used both to improve scan quality and to support diagnosis. The analysis is based on recent systematic reviews, meta-analyses and clinical studies.
