ABSTRACT

Fintech innovations have led to a gradual expansion of the content and scope of business ethics research, rendering the original ethical theoretical guidance and research discussions inadequate to address the sudden conflicts in business ethics. Resolving the friction between modern technology and ethical concepts requires a review of ethical insights and theoretical innovations regarding digital technology, cautiously weighing and evaluating the contradictions posed by new conflicts. This study conducted a systematic literature review of 168 articles on the topic of fintech and business ethics to explore emerging issues and trends in existing research. The results suggest that (1) Artificial intelligence has a significant dialectical impact on business ethics. (2) Transparency and interpretability of fintech technologies are the most controversial issues. (3) Critical ethical thinking under long‐termism is a major near‐term research issue. Additionally, important topics like technology compliance, emerging human rights protections, and long‐term ethical considerations for practices require thorough exploration based on the thematic forecasts. The study also provides research references and business recommendations for researchers, regulators, and stakeholders.
