Interpersonal Trust, Internal-External Control and the Walker Report on the Democratic Convention Disorders

Erwin J. Lotsof, James S. Grot

Summary —Two personality measures from Rotter's social learning theory, Interpersonal Trust and internal vs external control of reinforcement, were used to predict acceptance or rejection of the Walker Report within a college population. Ss with a consistent disbelief in the findings of the report were significantly less trusting and more external. Between sexes, variance contributing to significance was most associated with the female sample for both predictor measures.
