Internet of things in healthcare and pharmacy: prospects of development and popularization

At the current stage of science and technology, there are many developments in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). However, interest of healthcare and pharmacy specialists in these advances is low due to no information about them. This reduces the likelihood of using IoMT in professional activities. Therefore, some organizational and managerial measures should be developed and implemented at all levels of healthcare management to popularize the Internet of Things (IoT). The prospects and risks of IoT technologies in professional activities of healthcare and pharmacy specialists are considered, and process of their popularization in professional community is described. There is a growing interest in IoT technologies in the world and in Russia, as well as a wide range of their applications in various activities, including health protection. Elements of IoT popularization in professional activities of physicians and pharmacists are structured, and the principle of interaction of participants in this process at the federal and regional levels of the Russian Federation is outlined. The main costs for IoT popularization and areas of responsibility according to territorial and functional characteristics are determined. One of the tools for improving the quality of medical and pharmaceutical care is active use of IoT technologies by healthcare and pharmacy specialists. This is based on popularization of innovative technologies in professional community.
