Internet of things and Blockchain for Smart Machine Tools in Industry 4.0, A Review

Abstract

In order to increase transparency, traceability and security of data for smart machine tools within industry 4.0, blockchain technology and Internet of Things (IoTs) are applied. This review examines applications of IoT and blockchain technologies in smart machine tools within Industry 4.0 era. Thus, the paper systematically examines blockchain application in real-time data collection and communication between interconnected devices to provide data integrity, traceability, and decentralized security. Thus, to improve the security and efficiency of smart manufacturing within the industry 4.0 era, applications of blockchain and IoT in smart machine tools are studied.
