Interactive discussion
AC Kihlström, AD WilliamsAbstract
Following the presentations, participants will be invited to discuss how the principles of researcher preparedness and accountable proposal development can be applied within their own research settings and communities. Discussion will focus on identifying potential challenges that researchers may encounter when working with minoritized populations, including balancing methodological requirements with community priorities, addressing historical mistrust, and reducing unnecessary community burden. Participants will be encouraged to share experiences from their own work and reflect on practical strategies for adapting these principles across different cultural and public health contexts. The discussion aims to promote peer learning while identifying practical approaches for strengthening accountability and community-informed proposal development in future public health research.
