Integration of methods of teaching
fine arts and professional Russian language
in Chinese universities in a joint learning environment

Yucen Chen

This article addresses the gap between the teaching of art disciplines and professional Russian language at Chinese universities within the framework of joint Russian-Chinese programs. An integrated methodology is presented using three original teaching aids ("Drawing," "Painting," and "Monumental Painting"). A one-year experiment conducted at Sichuan Pedagogical University and Moscow State Pedagogical University demonstrated that the experimental group (integrated learning) outperformed the control group (separate learning) across all parameters—drawing quality, painting quality, terminology knowledge, instruction comprehension, and motivation. A conclusion is drawn regarding the effectiveness of integration, provided that bilingual instructions, oral recitation of terms, and written mini-responses in Russian are regularly used.
