Instruments and Tissue Handling in Cadaveric Dissection: To Become a Skilled Anatomist
Amarjeet KaurBackground:
Cadaveric dissection is a crucial educational tool for medical students, researchers, and healthcare professionals. There is a concerning lack of dissection skills teaching, resulting in medical students not having the necessary surgical skills and students feel that their own learning needs are not met.
Aim:
To understand the instruments used for dissection to become a skilled anatomist.
Materials and Methods:
Hands-on training of specialized instruments with tissue handling for safe and efficient dissection helps in in-depth exploration of human anatomy.
Results:
Applied knowledge of instruments will enable medical students to perform precise dissection, ensure better exposure and preserve anatomical structures effectively.
Conclusion:
Effective utilization of instruments will enhance anatomical and surgical knowledge, promote better understanding of anatomical relationships, and lead to better teaching and quality research work in the future.
