Summary:

Traditional correction of temporal depression often involves direct fat injection into the depressed area. Due to the unpredictable rate of fat graft survival, overcorrection may be used to compensate for graft resorption, which frequently leads to immediate postoperative swelling and, potentially, excessive fullness in the temporal area. This study introduces an innovative graft technique: primarily filling at the posterior hairline and moderately in the temporal depression area. This technique was applied to 25 patients, with an immediate postoperative satisfaction rate of 96% and a 1-month follow-up satisfaction rate of 92%. Based on our experience, this innovative procedure may be a promising option for achieving better outcomes in the correction of temporal depression.
