INFLUENCE OF THE PROPERTIES OF SURFACING MATERIALS ON THEIR MACHINABILITY WITH A BLADED TOOL

The paper objective is to study the effect of the properties of surfacing materials on their machinability with a blade tool during end milling. The task is to study the effect of the properties of surfacing materials on their machinability in comparison with the reference material made of 45 steel. A literature review on the method of machining tough and hardened materials is presented. The advantages and disadvantages of various methods of mechanical machining of surfacing materials and hardened steels are described. Deform software package simulates the process of milling of surfaced material and steel using the finite element method. The simulation results and their analysis are presented. The deposited surfaces and a reference sample made of 45 steel were machined on a milling system with a cutting speed of 56 m/min and a depth of 0.5 mm. The novelty of the work lies in the study of the effect of the properties of deposited surfaces with refractory components on the machinability of cutting in comparison with the machining of 45 steel. A comparison of the results of milling modeling in Deform software package and experimental studies is presented. The roughness of the treated surface, the wear of the cutting tool, the size and appearance of the chips are measured and analyzed. Conclusions: based on the research results, a surfacing material has been determined that provides increased wear resistance and satisfactory machinability with a bladed tool.
