Influence of Maxwell-fluid loading on Love-type wave propagation in Flexoelectric–Flexomagnetic structures

Abhilasha, Abhinav Singhal

The Love-type wave propagation in a system with a Maxwell-fluid layer on top of a flexoelectric medium embedded on a flexomagnetic half-space is investigated in this work. Under the magnetic and electric open- and short-circuit boundary conditions, the study examines the impact of the Maxwell-fluid layer’s thickness, viscosity, density and relaxation time, as well as the flexoelectric coefficients. An analytical technique is used in the study to obtain a dispersion relation. MATLAB is used to illustrate the graphs with variations in various parameters, such as the density, viscosity and thickness of the Maxwell-liquid layer, and the flexoelectric layer’s thickness. For all boundary conditions taken into consideration, the phase velocity decreases across the range of wavenumbers. The findings show that when the wavenumber increases, the height and viscosity of the liquid, micro-inertia and flexoelectric constants reduce the phase velocity. In contrast, the phase velocity is accelerated by the flexoelectric layer’s thickness. The results emphasise the significance of various wave propagation characteristics, which is helpful for sensor design and optimisation as well as fluid-loaded waveguides.
