Abstract

Objective

Digital economy transformation causes skill mismatch and psychological disembedding among vocational college digital talents, inducing severe workplace psychological pressure and negative mental states, undermining occupational mental health, and hindering talent retention and innovative development. This study explores the mediating effects of skill and psychological matching on the relationship between hepta-partite collaboration and talent development, aiming to reduce talents’ adaptive psychological pressure, optimize their mental states, and improve long-term occupational mental health.

Subjects and Methods

This study selected digital-major graduates from three typical vocational colleges in Shaanxi Province and adopted stratified random sampling to collect 852 valid questionnaire samples. A serial mediation model was constructed. Structural equation modeling and Bootstrap tests were applied for empirical hypothesis verification, and multi-group comparison was conducted for heterogeneity analysis. This study also measured changes in participants’ workplace psychological pressure, adaptive mental states and occupational mental health across different collaborative conditions.

Results

Hepta-partite collaboration significantly facilitates skill and psychological matching. Compared with skill matching, psychological matching contributes more greatly to talent retention, effectively relieving workplace adaptive pressure and improving sub-health mental states. The serial mediation effect is significant. Psychological matching stabilizes talents’ mental health and remarkably promotes their practical and knowledge innovation output.

Conclusion

The dual matching pathway underpins the collaborative talent training mechanism, and psychological adaptation is the core guarantee for talent stability. Incorporating psychological support into collaborative evaluation can reduce digital talents’ persistent workplace psychological pressure, sustain positive mental states, improve occupational mental health, and realize high-quality talent retention and innovative development.
