Indicators of economic security in the mechanical engineering industry

Anna Boykova, Il'ya Murzinov

The article examines the indicators of economic security in the mechanical engineering industry. The choice of the topic is driven by the key role of this industry in achieving the country's technological independence and strengthening its defense potential, as well as its increased sensitivity to external and internal challenges. The authors propose a system of economic security indicators structured across seven areas: production and technological state (output volumes, depreciation and renewal of fixed assets, capacity utilization), financial health (liquidity, autonomy, profitability), social and labor sphere (employment, income, staff stability), innovation activity (R&D expenditures, share of innovative products), environmental load, foreign economic dependence, and demographic situation. Each group contains quantitative indicators with recommended threshold limits. The developed toolkit enables the timely detection of deviations from a secure state, prompt response to emerging risks, and adjustment of managerial interventions. The results of the study can serve as a basis for building economic security monitoring systems in other industrial complexes, taking into account their sectoral specifics.
